What We Do
From families that have spent years researching and have files full of documents to those people who have only a few faded photos and dozens of memories, everyone has something worth passing on to the future. Technology has given us the means to record your thoughts and experiences for posterity rather than commercial gain.
Mixing new printing technology with traditional bookbinding skills, Pasttimes Publishing produce books of extremely high quality in very small numbers at an affordable price. The minimum quantity is only 12 copies. You may choose paperback, hardback or a combination of the two.

We have published a huge range of books for customers around the world, turning personal stories into a lasting legacy. Our books have ranged from war memoirs and family histories to poetry books and company histories. We have even produced a few football club histories!

Size
Our customers write a variety of books, from gap year travelogues to biographies. The size and layout of your book needs to reflect its style and format. Our standard package includes any size from tiny pocket book to A4. Most of our customers prefer the standard Royal Octavo size (248 x 156mm).
Materials
All Pasttimes books are produced using the very best quality materials and printed to the highest standard. Our standard paper and board are acid free and from sustainable sources.
If you specifically want us to print your book on a recycled paper, this is a non-standard option that we can certainly provide, but will need to discuss before you place your order.
Design
Each book is unique, so we don´t use a set format or template, preferring to design each one individually. Each layout and design will depend on the style and content of each book, as well as reflecting the tastes of the author. This is your book and we will discuss all the options with you.
We will design you a tasteful paperback book cover using your brief. We will use whichever image or photograph you choose.
Binding
Our Hardback Books are stitched and bound by a traditional Craftsman binder in York using the finest materials. You can choose from a variety of coloured cloths and Buckrams. The title and author´s name will be Gold/Silver blocked on the covers and spines.
If you wish to have your hardback copies bound in Full Leather, this is not a problem. There will be an additional charge, but this will be discussed and quoted for before you place your order.
All our Paperback books are Perfect Bound with a robust card cover and a laminated finish.
